Requests password to view billing information

I cancelled a yearly subscription today and when i tried downloading an app it said i needed to put in my password to view my billing information, i viewed it, edited it, even deleted it and readded the card. everytime i put in my password it directs me into adding payment but the right card is already active because ive tried it.


the subscription is still active till next year? does that have something to do with it? would i have to contact my card company?

iPhone 11, iOS 15

Get support from Apple directly -> Get Support or call Apple in your region see -> Contact Apple for support and service
