HomePod and Spectrum

Spectrum swapped out my old router that automatically switches from one speed to another based on which is working better. Now at times my HomePod says it is not on the same network as my phone. Is there a way to make sure that are in synch?

Hi kastefam,

Thank you for using the Apple Support Communities! We would recommend the steps below if your HomePod can't connect to the internet:

If Siri on your HomePod says it can't connect to the internet

If the signal strength indicator shows an exclamation point , HomePod can't connect to the Wi-Fi network. Try these steps. After each step, check if your issue is resolved.
1. Confirm your network setup.
2. Unplug HomePod and plug it back in, then wait 20 to 30 seconds.
3. Reset HomePod to factory settings, then set up HomePod again.

Hope this helps!

Have a great day.

The HomePod is connected and usually works without issue. At random times I will ask to add an item to my shopping list. Siri will say the HomePod is not on the same network as my iPhone. Eventually it goes back to being connected. I know the Spectrum router will change which WiFi signal it uses. I am not sure why the HomePod and phone respond differently.
