Tap the Cancel button in your screenshot.

Also see the following from Back up iPhone - Apple Support

Note: On models that support 5G, your carrier may give you the option to back up iPhone using your cellular network. Go to Settings > [your name] > iCloud > iCloud Backup, then turn on or off Backup Over Cellular.

Article did help in that it I checked iPhone in Finder on my Mac and it, was backed up end of August. I hit "Back Up Now" again, and Mac says it did,. It's checked to be going to iCloud, but iPhone still says it hasn't been backed up for for weeks.

They're both from the same company, yet my iPhone always seems to be at odds with my iMac. I'm going to have to call/see a live person to intervene between them.

But thanks for your support!

Phone doesn't want to do anything but backup using cellular data, which I had to do once, live at my local Apple Store, and it used up my allotment for the month. With one back up. Will never do that again.

Thanks for trying again, but none of the articles solve the problem, and spending several hours each time I have tried to solve it is not working. I'm very old school (and also old) and did fine with technology up to a point. But then there was a time when the iPhone seemed to be doing updates every two weeks, and it would mess up my settings. If something works, I never change settings on my own. So I'm going to contact Apple.

I've had so many problems with the iPhone this year that I've even considered getting a different phone.

My frustration with the iPhone is actually not a solvable problem for the Apple Community forum.
