Sent in wrong Trade in kit

I recently made a purchase for the iPad Pro and an Apple Pencil. Because I’m a college student, I thought I had gotten the student discount. Unfortunately that was not the case. After talking with one the reps, they suggested that I cancel my purchase and return it since it was it in process of shipping, then start a new process of purchasing it again under the education part of the website. I’m trading in my old iPad mini 4th gen to get store credit, but according to the reps they had supposedly canceled my order along with the trade in kit for the original order. However, after finally receiving my all my packages (and also having to pack up the ones I’m returning) I packed up my trade in kit with my iPad with the trade in kit I received. I literally go drop them off at the Fedex and as soon as I get home, I received another trade in kit. Which I’m assuming is the one I was supposed to pack it in… the one I had packed up and returned was for the original first purchase that got returned. So basically, I packed the iPad in the wrong trade in kit. What do I do now? Why say that it’ll be canceled if it isn’t ?

  1. Contact Customer Support: Reach out to Apple's customer support as soon as possible. Explain the situation to them, including the mix-up with the trade-in kit. They should be able to assist you in resolving the issue.
  2. Provide Details: Be prepared to provide your order number and any other relevant information about your purchase and return. This will help the customer support representative better understand your situation.
  3. Ask for Guidance: Ask the representative for guidance on how to proceed. They may instruct you on how to return the incorrect trade-in kit and provide instructions on using the correct one.
  4. Document Everything: Keep records of all communication with Apple's customer support, including dates, times, and names of the representatives you speak with. This can be useful if you encounter any further issues.
  5. Be Patient: Sometimes, it takes a little time for customer support to investigate and resolve complex issues like this. Be patient and follow their instructions closely.
