How does the iPad stay on the keyboard back?
Is the tilting back suppose to be magnetic or???

Your iPad uses magnets to hold the iPad on the Magic Keyboard; electrical connection is by way of the Smart Connector contacts of the iPad and Keyboard - which are also magnetic.
The tilt mechanism relies upon intentional friction within the Keyboard's physical hinges.
