Search web button always opens in safari

Why can't it just stay in the chrome app?

Based on this ANSWERED! How to use Chrome over Safari w… - Apple Community

I need to "Look Up" instead, which then let's me "search web" using chrome. And this works.

Is there going to be any actual fix? Chrome is my default browser and default search engine. I've disabled Siri (and Siri search suggestions) from learning from Chrome and Safari. I've turned off Siri. I've even disabled Siri and Safari via screentime.

I find Safari much superior to Chrome on my iPhone. The choice is yours.
