Keyboard shortcut for a particular keyboard key

Is there a possibility in macOS Catalina 10.15 to set a keyboard shortcut for a particular key, for example the "r" key?

MacBook Pro 15″, macOS 10.15

Yes, but it depends on what you want to do. Go to System Settings > Keyboard. There you create shortcuts. Text Replacement shortcuts are especially useful.

Macbook Pro 16 inch keyboard shortcuts No "end" key and no "home" key. But there is the keyboard shortcut of "fn - left arrow/right arrow" to quickly navigate to start of page and bottom of page. How to quickly switch function keys mode with shortcut for MacBook? If i wanna use the function keys without holding the fn, now the solution is by changing the function keys setting in the system preferences. Is there any shortcut to do the change of setting? like the windows NB do (by pressing fn+esc?)
