how do I keep only the most recent backup on my iPhone 13 Pro Max and iPad 16

I have an iPhone 13ProMax and an iPad 16. How do I save only the **most recent backup data** for these devices? my 50GB storage is half filled by “backups” and I want most of that freed up.

Your iCloud backups are automatically kept current (the most recent two) but you may have backups for older devices that you no longer have or use. You can go to Settings > [username] > iCloud > Manage Account Storage > Backups > [old device name] > Delete Backup to delete those.
