Hide Devices in Find My from Family (to prevent non-tech-savvy family from Playing Sounds or Worse: Erasing)
I need a way to hide some devices from sight from one family member to prevent accidentally playing sounds or erasing devices. So I have all my seats for Apple One occupied with family (I am the account holder). One family member is "not tech savvy" to kindly put it. As an example he accidentally purchases apps without meaning to, contacts me, and I submit the request for refund. He just doesn't have good tech sense.
My wife who is in the family plan has critical information on two devices she carries for work. She also does large presentations. While it hasn't happened yet, I can imagine my one day my one family member wandering into "Find My" and seeing everyone's devices, and he won't realize he is playing a sound on my wife's device(s) in the midst of a large scale presentation, or far worse, initiating an erase on her device.
I should emphasize, I do Time Machine backups and iCloud iOS backups, so the problem is not necessarily data loss. It's the potential of interruption of productivity or nuisance problems. There should be a way for the owner of the device who is an adult to hide a device from view of all others, much like how there is permissions given to share location to begin with. I do not want to remove the devices from Find My because that's still important in the event of theft.
