I forgot my MacBook Air password

I forgot my password for my MacBook Air. I tried to reset it with my Apple id and nothing happened.

Did you follow all the instructions here:

https://support.apple.com/guide/mac-help/reset-your-mac-login-password-mh35902/mac

You can choose your OS version in that article - pick whichever one you are running.
