Safari Profiles Menu not Shown

I have seen instructions to create multiple user profiles in Safari (Safari Settings -> "Profiles" tab). However, the Profiles tab is not shown in my Safari settings (as shown). Is there something I need to do to activate Profiles first? I am using Safari v16.6 in Ventura on an M2 MacBook Air 13". Any help would be hugely appreciated!

Hi! You will need to update your Safari version to be at least 17 or later (If you do the system upgrade from Ventura to Sonoma this will happen as part of the upgrade). And then, the profiles tab will appear for you!

Hi EucalyptusBrooks,

There doesn't seem to be any Apple documentation supporting the idea of creating profiles for Safari. The page Change Websites settings in Safari on Mac outlines configurable settings for that app on a Mac. Safari User Guide for Mac also returns no results related to profile configurations, so it may be necessary to verify the authenticity of the instructions you're attempting to follow.

It is possible to create multiple user accounts for the Mac, and each user would then be able to configure Safari to their needs. See Add a user or group on Mac for user account options and instructions.

Regards.
