I have an iPhone 8 Plus (iOS 16.4.1) with a broken Lightning connector. I want to transfer ~ 800 new photos to my MacBook Pro (Mid 2015) (MacOS 10.12.6). I used to use the Preview app, but that doesn't seem to connect by Wifi. I'd rather not have to email them in batches of 5. How can I conveniently get my new photos to my computer hard drive?

Thank you. Is there a way to specify that only the new photos should be sent to iCloud? If I sync all photos ever taken, I may run out of iCloud space. I could temporarily purchase more space, but I'm afraid if I delete all the photos from iCloud, they will be deleted from my iPhone as well. How can I just transfer the new photos to my Mac and keep all the photos on my iPhone?
Only through AirDrop or email. Once your sync is completed, you can turn it off so as not to worry about deleting items (plus, you always have your offline backup, just in case). iCloud is all or nothing.
The easiest way is to enable iCloud Photos on both devices to sync the photos. You can also AirDrop or email.
