OS Sierra Install Issue

Hello, I have inherited an old MacBook Pro A1707. In the last few seconds of the OS Sierra install, this error happens - ‘An error occurred while preparing the installation. Try running this application again.’ Wondering what the solution is?

TIA

to make a secure connection, the time on your Mac must be correct within five minutes.

if it keeps reverting to a different time-zone, that is probably not an issue, because it keeps GMT internally. If the minutes are changing, and not within five minutes of Internet time, then Apple can't check your credentials of the Apple-ID that "owns" that download.

You may haver to ERASE the drive, and take it back to the 'shipped in the box' version of macOS. ant Hern AFETER eating your new Apple-ID upgrade back to the version you want to install.

A1707 looks up to 15-in MacBook Pro 2016 or 2017, so not T2 chip. Those models shipped with 10.12 Sierra, but if there is still an Apple-ID associated with that Mac, you may have to do the WHOLE drill:
