icloud low storage photos deleted

All my low storage photos are gone. I tried replaying my live photos but every time i held down the picture and little “!” would show up. I tried fixing the problem by going into my settings and seeing if it had anything to do with photo settings and iphone storage. I clicked on one of the settings and it ended up removing all of my pictures and videos with “!” on it. I need to get those pictures and videos back. I don’t know how.

Troubleshooting Lost Photos:

Loss of data is something you would have agreed to upon opening an Apple Account. So, if the following does not work, then they are gone. That's just the way it is :(

Four Tactics to Try:

A. Start here: If you're Missing Photos or Videos in the Photos app - Apple Support

B. Check iCloud Directly:

See if they reside in iCloud Photos. Log in here: https://www.icloud.com/photos

C. Use a Time Machine Backup:

Did you backup your Mac, recently? If so, then restore your Mac from that. You'd backup you Mac prior to doing so, and then restore your data from the backup you just created, through use of Migration Assistant.

D. Where Else to Check:

  • PC
  • PDA
  • eMail
  • Mac Device
  • Cloud Storage
  • Android Phone
  • USB Flash Drive
  • External Hard drive
  • Secure Digital Card
  • Compact Flash Card

Try Getting all Photos from iCloud:

One unique method...

Download All of iCloud to an External Drive:

One thought would be to download all of iCloud, and then search through it in Finder on a Mac. You would download it to an external drive, and then open the drive in Finder. Search through it using the search bar on the top-right corner of the Finder window. Enter various photo file type extensions to see what pops up. Once found, export it to another store service. Then, trash all of iCloud. Once trashed, upload from the hard drive. Use my user tip: Getting a Quick and Direct "iCloud Drive-to-External Hard Drive" Download - User Tip
