Editing insta360 oner video in fcp on ipad m2

I just got back from Monterey Car Week. I took racing video with my insta360 oner camera as 360 footage. In hopes of editing said footage in FCP on my iPad M2. I copied all files from my sd card via a memory card reader to my iPad bypassing my oner. I did not want to have to export each clip one at a time from my camera. I changed the insta extension of all files to .mp4. So far ok. There are no video showing how to import and change the format in FCP on the iPad. I can find many videos on how to edit 360 video on the Mac. On the Mac you have to change the File format type. I don't see how to do this on the iPad version. I am brand new to FCP and FCP on the iPad. I have been using LumaFusion on my iPad. Any help, thank you.. p.s. maybe you just can't edit 360 video on the iPad version. I don't want to have to edit part of the footage in the insta360 app, then export footage, then continue editing on my iPad.

I am thinking maybe I need a 3rd party app to convert the footage and then import it into FCP? Is that correct. I also have a macbook pro m1 max if i need to use it. I am just trying to find a one stop solution.

It is possible. Did you try importing this footage into your mac?

And, as you go about it, could you elaborate on why you'd rather edit in your iPad when you have a fast new Mac?
