Verification mobile number on Apple pay/Wallet incorrect!

I have similar issue. Wallet displayed my land line, and my work number, neither of which I've ever entered on my iphone. Also, it provided an email option with an address I've not used in 20 years. Where does apple get this data from?

Apple doesn’t verify your account, your bank does. Please contact your bank and have then remove the old information from Apple Pay and update your account with the correct information. Many banks contract out for the service and you’ll have to make sure you’re in contact with the Apple Pay support team. Regular support staff may not be aware of the process etc.

Your bank or third party may have verified information off your credit report or other sources.

When the last time you verified the information contained in your credit report?

Under federal law, you’re entitled to one free credit report from the three major nationwide credit reporting agencies, Equifax, Experian and TransUnion every 12 months.

You can request a report by calling 1-877-322-8228 or by visiting www.annualcreditreport.com. Review them for any problems. Look out for accounts you didn’t open or inquiries from creditors you didn’t authorize. Contact the agency to report any errors. 

Thank you, I had suspected as much. But I did want to verify before demanding action at the bank.

Apple doesn’t do the verification. Apple can’t verify your account. They have none of the information your bank has.
