I used to see the adaptive lighting option for all of my hue lights in Apple Home. Since the HomeKit architecture update back in iOS 16.2 I no longer have the little sunlight icon (see screenshot).
I’m now running iOS 16.6 but still no luck. Does anyone know a fix?
I’ve tried removing the Hue bridge from HomeKit and re-adding it via the Hue app but that hasn’t helped. Hoping I don’t need to do a full reset as I have multiple lights, Apple TVs & HomePods.
That was a total non-answer. If somebody reaches out for support, telling them to read the manual when they already have spent the time to learn your ecosystem is a waste of time. Dig in, get an answer, and help then find out what’s wrong.

I finally got it working. In the home app, I completely removed the Phillips Hue bridge. Then I added it again. This time I was given 3 options. I added the option with Homekit. Not the regular one or the one with Material. Now the Adaptive lighting option is available.

Do you recall if you ‘upgraded’ your Hue hub to Matter?
Adaptive lighting is (irritatingly) not a feature on Matter.
it is the only rational explanation that fits why I have lost mine too
