Using built-in microphone with closed lid

Hello,

I noticed that when my MacBook Air 2021 has lid closed I can't use the built-in microphone. As I open the lid .. it again start to work. Someone on another forum told that's 'true' only for MacBook Air.

Well .. today I tried my another MacBook Pro 2022 but also stop function microphone when I closed the lid.

Again .. on another forum someone said .. it's designed by Apple to stop microphone when lid is closed.

I'm confused.

Could you clarify?

Ya, doesn’t work when lid is closed. Make sense because the lid blocks sound wave entering built in mic, you won’t want to use it this way. I assume you are using external monitor and possibly external webcam, might switch to mic on camera?
