Good morning. Im trying to update my MacBook and I've already deleted everything I've downloaded to gain more space and it still doesn't let me do the update. My MacBook comes with 8gb and the update needs 16gb. How can I buy more space?

The numbers to which you refer are RAM. Upgrades require drive space, not RAM. Refer to Free up storage space on your Mac - Apple Support
There are some older Intel-based MacBook Airs for which you can get compatible internal SSDs from Other World Computing.
On newer MacBook Airs, you cannot upgrade the Internal SSDs. I do not believe there are any MacBook Airs on which you can upgrade RAM.
You can attach an external drive for added storage.
If you mean memory (RAM) no, what you bought is all you'll ever have. Upgrades in both RAM and disk space are purchase options.
