Hi delanobay,

Thanks for coming to Apple Support Communities for help today.

It appears you have visited a great article that suggested updating carrier settings.

If that hasn't resolved the issue, are you using Wi-Fi Calling as described in this article: Make a call with Wi-Fi Calling? If this is the case, then you'd need to be sure your carrier supports the feature: Wireless carrier support and features for iPhone in the United States and Canada. You may then also need input from your Internet provider.

Since the iPhone cellular connection works elsewhere, then it is most likely a carrier issue in the area you reside and contacting your carrier is the best step.

Have a fantastic day!

I did spend (it seemed like) hours on phone with Consumer Celleular working through their required steps before they forwarded the problem to TMobile or whatever carrier they use out here. They were very nice but it turns out that there was a problem with my local tower which was fixed by the next morning. I've never had this problem before, but face it, our cell infrastructure is aging and this may become a more common problem in the future.
