Emails from the MailChimp email marketing providers are bouncing when attempting to deliver to Apple's mail servers.

I belong to an organization that uses MailChimp to communicate with members. Users that have Apple mail accounts are not receiving the messages and MailChimp is recording the messages as bounced. This is only happening to Apple users. How can this issue be resolved?

We are finding all mailchimp emails sent .me or .iCloud emails as of this week are proving to be soft bounces

mailchimp help have repeatedly told me apple is blocking their emails and it’s up to me to follow it up despite charging me for these contacts

is there a esp that apple accounts are more accepting of that small business can look to implement, or is there am esp that can better prove to apple we are legit

I am referring to email accounts that I have previously been sending monthly emails that have had no other issues for a long time and the email customers have signed up to my list in person.

We are having the same problem, but the problem is not with what device they are using, the problem is that message sent previously to the exact same group were delivered with no problem and are mow being bounced. Seems like some security setting on Apple side must be rejecting MailChimp emails on a broad scale, not in the user’s device. Please take another look and see if there are some other solutions. Thanks!

I am having this same issue. I manage three separate Klaviyo accounts and all 3 showed increase bounce rates basically overnight on Jan. 23rd. All the bounces were to @me.com, @icloud.com, or @mac.com email addresses, all of which the emails had been delivering to before the 23rd. I am baffled as to why this would have drastically changed overnight, especially across three different accounts. Something broad scale is happening for sure & I'd really appreciate if anyone has looked into this or found a solution. Thanks!

Hi carrie69,

Thanks for contacting Apple Support Communities!

We understand that you have users on iPhone that can't receive email messages from a specific account, correct?

If they aren't able to receive mail on their iPhones, they can check out this resource which offers troubleshooting steps for help to receive mail: If you can't receive emails on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch – Apple Support

"There are a few things to bear in mind and check:

  • When you make an iOS or iPadOS backup in iCloud or iTunes, it will back up your email settings, but not your emails. If you delete or change your email account settings, previously downloaded emails may be removed from your device.
  • Make sure your device is connected to the Internet.
  • Check with your email service provider to find out if there's a service outage.
  • If you can't access your emails or can't send and receive messages with your @icloud.com email address, find out what to do."

We hope this helps.

Take care!
