Apple ID and Microsoft Email are the same. how to add to Outlook?

I set up my Apple ID years ago before icloud and used my only email address - someone@hotmail.com. I was able to setup both emails/contacts/calendars in Outlook Desktop in the past and then about a year ago, it no longer recognized my Apple ID. When I try to add it back, it says the email address has already been added. how can i get both my Apple email and my hotmail to show in Outlook?

Hi rbsimmons,

Thanks for posting in Apple Support Communities.

You can add your Hotmail email address in Settings > Mail > Accounts, but for your Apple ID, you will sign in to Settings and sign in at the top where it asks for your Apple ID.

Sign in on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
1. Open the Settings app.
2. Tap Sign in to your [device].
3. On iPhone, sign in to your Apple ID in the Settings app
4. Enter your Apple ID and password.
5. If prompted, enter the six-digit verification code sent to your trusted device or phone number and complete sign in.
If you're already signed in to iCloud on the iPhone paired with your Apple Watch, you will automatically be signed in to that Apple ID. Learn more about how to set up and sign in to your Apple Watch
