Cannot delete music from Apple Music on my Mac
When I try to delete a song from my music library, it disappears from the music app but the file is not deleted and thus continues taking up space on my hard drive.
What I'm doing used to work once upon a time (I can't recall how long ago) and hasn't for a while...
I simply select a song and hit "delete". A confirmation box asks me "Are you sure you want to delete the selected song from your music library?", and I confirm. I believe I used to get a confirmation box asking if I want to "Move to Bin", but that no longer appears which is basically the issue - how do I get Apple Music to give me the option "Move to Bin" again?
A little added info:
- Macbook Air running MacOS 13.3.1 and Apple Music version 1.3.4.56
- I'm talking about local files on my laptop, not purchased through iTunes or Apple Music or any other subscription service.
- I looked a bit in forums and one suggestion I saw was to check if sync is turned on. I doubt that is the issue because they're local files, but I looked anyway and to my confusion that option isn't even visible for me... according to a screenshot I saw posted, when I go to Settings > General, the first section I should see is "Library:" with options for "Sync Library" and "Automatic Downloads". I don't see this section at all, the first section I see is "Show:". So perhaps something is in general messed up with my App and that's affecting both which settings are available as well as whether delete is working?? I don't know, it's weird...
