iTunes Store song samples periodically do not play

Recently, I've been having trouble getting the song samples to play in the apple store on my computer. Some play; many don't. Is there something wrong with the apple store? I'm reluctant to purchase the song if the sample doesn't work. Thanks!

Hi Oldschoolipodfan,

If you haven't done so yet, restart your Mac. Restarting may seem simple, but this step can help correct some unexpected issues. It's also a good idea to make sure your Mac is running the latest compatible version of macOS, since this can help with overall performance: Update macOS on Mac

If an update is available, it's a good idea to create a backup before installing it.

If the issue continues, reach out to Apple Support directly so they can look into this with you further. They can be contacted here: Get Support or by calling the most applicable phone number from this list: Contact Apple for support and service.

Regards.

I have restarted Windows 10 multiple times. I have latest version of itunes installed. My account shows up without issues. I believe the Apple itunes store is broken or doesn't work correctly for Windows. Most of the songs/samples for purchase will play. About 25% will not play. They just spin and will not open. The same songs that wouldn't open last week, will not open today. The songs that worked on the store still work. I feel this may be an issue with the itunes store, but no one is addressing it. Thanks!

Hi old school,

I've had the same problem the last couple weeks on the new releases. (I'm on a MacBook Air and an apple desktop so it's not just a Windows thing).

I just got off the phone with various levels of apple support testing a variety of workarounds and the final guy who it was escalated to said the same thing happened on his end with those particular tracks so they will work to resolve it on their end since it's a universal problem. It's nothing to do with our particular computers or settings!

Same here. All three of the albums I was looking at worked temporarily. Later in the day when I checked, they didn't work again. Know that the issue is on their end. I think the last person I talked to was the fourth up the "foodchain" after doing all kinds of other workarounds with others. Then when I finally got to that guy, he realized the problem was indeed on their end! Hopefully they resolve this and it's not the case with random new releases going forward.

This doesn't work...at all. This is a simple non-answer to a problem. Zero help and no useful information here on this forum. Answers like this one or sample it on YouTube do not address the problem or provide a path forward for fixing. By the way you can also buy music on YouTube as well as sample, convert and play on Apple products another step added yes...but by not fixing iTunes problems and directing people to do this, we are already having to do another step anyways.
