Trouble with Apple Mail Reply-to function on iPad and iPhone

I have been communicating with a support center on an issue, and when I click on the reply button at the bottom, the message gets my default address, not the support center email address.

There is a reply icon in the email; if I click on it, the correct email is placed in the message. Is this a problem with the iPad/iPhone mail app, or is it a problem with the email from the support center?

Hey there kamiobi,

Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities. We're happy to provide some assistance.

Let's make sure your device is up-to-date. If it is updated, let's restart your device. Restarting your device and making sure it is updated can resolve many unexpected issues.

Take a look here on how to restart your iPad: Restart your iPad - Apple Support

"How to restart an iPad without a Home button

  1. Press and hold either volume button and the top button until the power off slider appears.

  2. Drag the slider, then wait 30 seconds for your device to turn off. If your device is frozen or unresponsive, force restart your device.
  3. To turn your device back on, press and hold the top button until you see the Apple logo."

Take a look here on how you can update your iPad: Update your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

If the issue persists, reach out to Apple directly to investigate: Get Support

Have a great day!

Thanks kamiobi.

Does this happen with any other emails? You're positive you are replying to their email, not your earlier reply to their email, correct?

If you're sure this is only happening with this email and you are replying to the correct message, you can connect with Apple directly to report the issue using either Get Support or if you're in a region without direct support options, you can also Contact Apple for support and service.

Thanks for the reply. My iPad is using version iPad OS16.6. The button works, but it is inputting the incorrect address in the reply mail message. I ended up sending the message to myself and not the company that sent the message.

I did find a post from nine years ago where a person was asking for help because the company emails he was sending out had this problem, but the only reply was to contact Apple with a bug report. I would like to know if other people have experienced this problem.
