I was charged for a free trial.

I wanted to try the free trial Photoshop on my iPad. Again, this was supposed to be a free trial. I even clicked the button that said "start free trial". I tried the free trial for 1 day to see if I like the product, I didn't, I cancelled the the subscription so I wouldn't be charged after the 1-month trial, but I was charged anyway. Very upset.

Exactly what happened to me and Apple would not refund my money. Eventhough I was still well within the window of free trial. For some reason, I apparently magically picked an annual membership right away without even having to use the app more than a week vs. the weekly trial.

I get an email stating that my membership will automatically renew for 29.99. Really? If that were accurate, why skip the weekly/monthly membership and go straight to annual? I know for a fact there's a cheaper membership vs. just annual but I just don't want to go back and check because I'm afraid they'll charge me again without even clicking the side button. I'm going to continue to appeal this (whether that'd be Apple, PayPal, the developer or the authorities) because there's 2 apps that are linked to each other that I signed up for a free trial. Both charged me 29.99 each, notifiying me via email that it will renew. I know for a fact that I cancelled right away after I downloaded the app. But THE APP STORE does not have a time stamp of when you cancelled the app. Very weird. Luckily I have receipts with all mismatching dates.

First confirm you have canceled any subscription automatic renewal (if you simply delete an app this does not cancel subscriptions):

Review the information in this support article by clicking on the link to learn how to cancel a subscription from Apple. ➔ If you want to cancel a subscription from Apple - Apple Support

• "If you signed up for a free or discounted trial subscription and you don't want to renew it, cancel it at least 24 hours before the trial ends."

• An existing subscription will normally continue until the end of its term and may then renew automatically. Stopping automatic renewal is effectively canceling it. "If you don’t see Cancel Subscription, then the subscription is already canceled and won't renew." The "Expires" date means the current subscription will just run until then.

• Read the article to see what to do about subscriptions that do not appear in your list. If you still can't find a subscription, contact Apple Support using the link at the end of the support article.

• Canceling a subscription does not automatically start a refund.

Finally, follow the directions in this support article about how to request a refund for apps or content that you bought from Apple ➔ Request a refund for apps or content that you bought from Apple - Apple Support
