That isn’t even what they asked.

There looks to be no way out of this idiotic advertising called, "guides" in Apple Maps. It's sad that Apple is simply walking down the same road as instagram or tick tock or whatever the kids are influenced by these days.
You can only remove "guides" that YOU added. But, they seem to always be suggested. No matter what settings you pick, they won't go away.
Hello mjs681,
Welcome to Apple Support Communities!
Here are instructions for removing guides from Apple Maps:
"Remove a guide
Organize places in My Guides in Maps on iPhone
If that doesn't address your concern, you can contact Apple Support to investigate this further using this link: Get Support
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
Take care!
Now that there is advertisement that is being sneakily added to the Apple maps section I realise that Samsung is a much much better phone when I actually started to look into it. I still have my iPhone
- considering the price of them (iPhone) also the fact that there is less freedom and creativity in these devices now that ever, they just keep getting greedier….NO MORE; not buying one again, its gotten really bad now and it just seems to be one thing after another now with the company Apple it’s never been the same since Steve Jobs. The best thing we can do as people is trying to speak up and stop them from having this power because they really need the creative working-class market to sell these phones and make all their money. They don’t make that much money from the rich people, they really need a larger market in order to thrive, which is why they market themselves as equal, and even affordable at times when, in actual fact, given some of the stories about the production of this technology and how they are actually made. This is all absolute lies.
Interestingly, allowing iOS users to remove “guides” will actually HELP with advertising and ad revenue (by extension).
Those of us who don’t care about such nonsense will not be targeted - the ones who do want to see things like this, will - and when you TARGET market instead of SHOTGUN market, it’s better for everyone.
Plenty of people want to follow and be influenced - let them. By giving those of us who don’t care a way out, Apple or Google or Samsung will be helping advertisers make the best use of their ad money.
The real stickler is "Guides We Love" section, that takes up a lot of real estate on the Maps home page. In order to get to useful stuff like "Share My Location" and "Mark My Location", I have to scroll over "Guides We Love". PLEASE Apple, let us get rid of this. I know how to get rid of a Guide that I add, but this is a Guide that YOU added and, as far as I can tell, these is no way to delete it. I DESPISE "Guides We Love."
