i bought an AirTag from someone
they never removed their AirTag from their Apple ID. i have no contact with them anymore. what can I do?

Unfortunately, AirTags can only be linked with one Apple ID, and only the previous owner can remove it. However, first try resetting the AirTag. Remove the battery by turning the lid counterclockwise, press the battery down until the sound ends, release the battery, and repeat this until you hear a different sound.
Note that the location can still be tracked. If you feel your safety is at risk, remove the battery, then contact law enforcement.
If you get in contact with them, ask them to go to Find My, Items, [AirTag], then remove it.
