keyboard shortcuts don't work I just get a beep

Let me first say I am a newbie

I have been using my Mac for a week

i found where the shortcuts were defined the one I wanted to use Screen capture

i changed the code to one I picked tried it IT WORKED!

changed the others I wanted

they also worked
