My Apple One subscription renewed, I upgraded it a couple days later, I was charged for the original plan at $22, then charged again for full price for the upgrade of $32. Why was I charged the full amount, and not just the prorated difference?

  1. My Apple One Family Plan subscription renewed for $22.95
  2. The next day I upgraded to the Premier Plan for $32.95
  3. I was charged BOTH the full $22.95, then the full $32.95 a day later

Why was I charged the full amount, and not just the prorated difference?

Because Apple does not do that. It charges the full amount regardless. It should however provide a prorated refund of the original $22.95 charge or the full amount if none was used to the same payment method that was used to purchase it.
