How to speed up 3D workflow on M1 ultra Mac Studio?

How do I speed up my 3D workflow on my new M1 ultra Mac Studio? I use Cinema 4D and it's becoming more and more difficult to animate in real time or get real-time visual feedback in redshift/cinema 4D. I literally have a scene with just a bunch of cubes with effectors and fields driving animation yet i get that stupid pinwheel in my face every few minutes. Drives me crazy!!! Does anyone have tips/tricks for working faster in C4D/ Redshift on these new M1 Mac Studios?

I honestly expected better performance from this thing. And I really really really don't want to go back to Windows. But, I am starting to miss that NVIDIA performance I once had.

there has been a reported issue where:

If the computer is allowed to sleep, in certain cases it does not fully wake, leaving it with reduced capacity to do work of any description. when tested with performance tester software like Geek bench, it tests badly.

Tthe latest version (MacOS 13.5 at this writing) is said to address that issue. whether it is a complete fix is not yet known.

The experiment to set up is to Restart your Mac, and without allowing the computer to sleep, test your heavy workload again. Please report ANY results of any description.
