Payment updated but still charging old card

I updated my payment credit card a couple of months ago and it’s still charging my old credit card. When I look at my account it has the new credit card number there but I’m still being charged with my old card. I don’t know how to fix this

Thank you kindly for your reply, and added info., gerri297.

If the payment method is for your Apple ID account for purchases from Apple:

You might want to reach out to Billing and Subscriptions Support (online chat, phone, email etc) There is a "Get support - start now) link at the bottom of their website:

Re: "Payment updated but still charging old card"

Seems Apple always first tries to charge the top payment method in the list, and, if needed, works down the list.

We do not know if you are using a payment method in your Apple ID account, or for Apple Pay, Apple Card, etc.,

or which iPad OS version is installed on your iPad.

You could check whether you can just drag the card you want charged to the top of the list.
