Updating to latest OS and not lose photos in albumsin Iphoto

I have over 100,000 photos in Iphoto, in 2015 and 2018 the genius bar at the apple store was not able to transfer to the new Apple Photo, (too many photos)

I need to access these photos for business, daily, how do I upgrade to the new OS without losing the photos that will still be organized in albums

If I upgrade and the photos are not in albums, the photos are useless

need to upgrade from mojave 10.14.6 to the the latest OS

iMac 21.5″, macOS 10.14

What system and Photos versions are you currently running?

I would get an external SSD that is big enough to house your Photos library with room to grow. Format it APFS with Ownership set to be ignored:

Copy your library to the external drive and open it to verify that all phiotos are there and that it works as advertised. Then delete the library from the iMac's internal drive.

When you upgrade your system and the Photos app your library, the first time it's opened, should be converted to the latest Photos version with no loss of albums or photos.

If you're still on Mojave you have have to upgrade to Big Sur or Monterey first before going on to Ventura (that is if you Mac will support Ventura). We'll know more once you reply to this reply. Be sure to have a backup of the library before you start the upgrade process. That will allow you to restore the library from the backup in case there's a problem with the conversion. I've never had a problem with my numerous libraries during a system upgrade.
