Slow wifi ONLY on macbook with Verizon 5G Wireless Home Internet

I am getting extremely slow speeds (around 1mbps) on my macbook pro, while other devices are getting 100mbps+ at the same time.

I've tried rebooting everything. Occasionally I am able to get the same speeds on my macbook, but it soon goes back to the slow speeds. I've tried switching from the 5ghz channel to the 2.4ghz, and the 2.4 is actually better (usually around 10mbps) but still nowhere near where it should be.

I've seen others say they've experienced issues between macs and verizon internet.

Any ideas? Thank you.

A quick resolution can sometimes be had by using "automatic' channel section in the Router. the router listens as it starts up, and selects the least busy channel. it is not an accident that every debugging procedure starts with "cycle to power to your Router".

the issue is that nearby routers can impinge on PART of your selected channel, and sometimes slow your data:

This is the Spectrum display from an inexpensive utility name WiFi Explorer. it has a brief free trial and is worth the modest cost.

These folks are NOT having a good day. their data channels overlap and nothing is getting through at high speed.

Poisoning Internet performance:

By far the easiest way to cause poor performance, instability, overheating and crashing is to install ANY third-party speeder-uppers, Cleaners, Optimizers, or Virus scanners. or a VPN that you installed yourself.

The idea that a third party, with no special knowledge of the inner workings of MacOS, can somehow find a simple way to protect your computer — that is not already being done by MacOS itself — suggests that the MacOS developers are somehow "holding out on you". That is absurd.

You should remove any and all (other than Apple built-in) virus scanners, speeder uppers, optimizers, cleaners, App deleters or VPN packages you installed yourself, or anything of that ilk.

Third-party file Sync-ers such as DropBox, BackBlaze, OneDrive, or GoogleDrive can ruin performance, but are not inherently dangerous.
