I always, starting up my iMac Pro, become the error message 'You shut down your computer because of a problem' while this is not true. Before I shut down my computer properly I always close all programs. But the next time I start up I become, again and again, the same error message while there are no applications running at all, not in the front, not in the back (I cleared the complete launch list).
Anyone recognized this problem ? What more can I do ?
You can try a SafeBoot Use safe mode on your Mac - Apple Support will sort many anomalies.
Reboot as normal and test. Caches get rebuilt automatically.
There is no advantage is manually quitting applications if you insist on shutting down your Mac. The macOS is much more efficient actually in shutting down and relaunching if you let it...
Try it and compare your results.
Typically I would never shut down unless necessary or after an upgrade; reboot only if there is a glitch or RAM issue; other wise let it sleep.
