can't generate app specific password

I'm following all the proper procedures that I have done before, but cannot generate an app specific password.

MacBook Pro (2021)

Hey hc1111,

yes, that is the usual procedure I have used before. But as others have suggested, it worked fine on a browser other than Safari. I used Firefox and all went smoothly. Way beyond my comprehension and it shouldn’t work on safari, but that’s life!

If you're having trouble when using app-specific passwords, use the guidance below:

How to generate an app-specific password

1. Sign in to appleid.apple.com.

2. In the Sign-In and Security section, select App-Specific Passwords.

3. Select Generate an app-specific password or select the Add button , then follow the steps on your screen.

4. Enter or paste the app-specific password into the password field of the app.
