Need Tips and How to's for using Finder on macOS Ventura

First time Mac user; I am very much looking forward to the day that I no longer loathe this OS and discover that it does in fact offer some semblance of intuitive functionality. In the meantime, support does not appear to have answers to the series of questions that I will be posting here. I hope that someone out there might.

1) Is there no cut option within Finder? Am I relegated to copying then pasting, then returning to delete?

2) Is there a manner by which to determine how many files are in a specific folder?

3) Printing to PDF: it appears that my options for destination stops at Documents. Is it not possible to choose any folder other than those designated by the OS to save PDF print jobs??

Any assistance or suggestion is appreciated.

1. There isn't; press the Option key while pasting to move the files.

2. Choose Show Status Bar from the Finder's View menu. Alternatively, select the folder and choose Get Info from the File menu.

3. Look for a button with a down symbol in the Print dialog box, and push it.

Another option for #1 is a small app called "Command X" by Sindre Sorhus. It basically allows you to use "⌘+C, ⌘+V" instead of "⌘+⌥+C, ⌘+V" in order to move a file rather than copy it.

You can download it either from the App Store (https://apps.apple.com/us/app/command-x/id6448461551?mt=12) or from his website (https://sindresorhus.com/command-x). He has a bunch of other incredibly helpful apps as well (some free, some paid). I've been using many of his apps for a couple years now and I highly recommend them.

On Sonoma 14.4, A Get Info on a folder icon containing strictly five PDF documents (no .DS_Store or any other files) reports 6 items. The Status bar on a Finder window gets the folder file count correctly.

On macOS Monterey 12.7.4, a Finder Get Info on a folder containing eight items and a .DS_Store file returns a true folder count of 9.
