Numbers cell padding

I want to increase the space between the right (and/or left) digits in cells, for clarity.

I've tried this Table Cell Padding - Apple Community but as well as moving text left, it also moves it down. See screenshots.

How can I move text just to the left?

Before using Text Insert suggestion... centred vertically...

After using Text Insert suggestion... moved left, good, but also dropped vertically, bad...
