Everyone I know is completely infuriated that Apple is showing the score of MLS games. What is the propose of this beside completely ruining the games? I definitely won’t be renewing next season if this baffling policy hasn’t been changed.

This does nothing. You can toggle it off, and you will still see the score the minute you select the game. It’s beyond frustrating - you’d think a company like Apple could manage UX this simple.
You forgot to mention on which device (& model & OS) this is happening for you.
You may want to check if restarting the app helps for this change to take effect.
