I'd like to set two angles to stay active audio during my Multicam edit, while all others switch video only. FCPX seems to only support having 1 angle stay audio angle active and all others switch video. Is there a way to do what I want other than premixing? Thanks

If I understand correctly what you're asking, it's very simple. Open the Multicam Angle Viewer, select the audio only switching button, then select the first audio angle you want active. Next, OPT, CMD click the second audio source you'd like to hear. Done.

One rather crude way is to add two instances of the multicam, one above the other.
Choose one audio angle in the bottom copy. Choose the second audio angle in the top copy. Then switch only video in the top copy.
I knew that there had to be a better way, but I had not tried it before.
With the multicam clip in your project timeline, open the Audio Inspector and you can check more than one angle.
That's as simple as it can get.

Yes, that is nice. It has the same effect as the method I described above. Using the Angle Viewer or the Inspector, it is simple to use multiple audio angles at the same time.
I couldn't get it to work even though the manual says what you say. I must have been doing something wrong. I had to click on the audio for the angle in the inspector to get it to turn on as Luis Sequeira1 said.
If you don't need to switch audio channels at all you could simply place them below the primary storyline, and in the primary storyline have a video-only multicam edit.
Never tried this but another way could be to make one angle a compound containing the two audio tracks, then just cut video only.
