MacBook Pro locked by IT dept. that no longer exists

When I retired, I bought the MacBook Pro I was using at home to do remote training for a call center. It work for a while, but now it has been locked by an IT admin.

I have tried to contact IT, but after I retired, the company moved the call center to Guatemala, and no one in the remains of the office can do anything more than give me the number of the call center in Guatemala. The company running the call center has their own IT department. They do not know what I’m talking about. They cannot find any record of my MacBook Pro or the purchase of it.

Is there anyway I can break the lock that someone put on my laptop. I’m not getting any help from the Guatemalans.

Here is the photo showing the opening screen after I boot up the MacBook

As it was a company MacBook, I paid a discount price for it to admin who had assigned it to me. As the company moved to Guatemala, she and everyone in the customer service center here was laid off including her.

I don’t recall being given a receipt. I think they just took it out of my last paycheck.

Thank you for the photo.

Getting into This:

If you bought this, and still have the original receipt, you may be able get in to this. It seems this was locked by them, being you were using it under their own account access (thereby granting them the ability to lock this).

If this is their device, then locking it is their call. There is nothing you can do.
