Question: I currently use a 3rd party email (local cable provider) for my apple id. I need to change my email and want to use icloud.com. Can I do this without losing all my music and app purchases and credit on my iTunes account?

I would encourage verifying your trusted telephone numbers and recovery email addresses and maybe a recovery contact, before making the email change, and adding those recovery paths as appropriate, to make recovery more easily feasible should something go wrong.

muguy sagely links to how to change your Apple ID to a new email address, and which will maintain your purchases and subscriptions. After that change, you can then add an account for your ISP email in the mail app, and continue to use that until you’re done receiving email with the ISP mail provider.
