Time Machine not completing because running on low battery

My MacBookAir is 2 years old and I always get the same message from Time Machine - No backups for 710 days - The most recent backup did not complete because your computer was running on battery. The computer is plugged in and the battery 99% charged. I think this means I am not backing up to iCloud. I have not tried external storage.

What do I do?

Yes, 2 years is 730 days

iCloud was and is designed to be a conduit to have files on iCloud.

It was and is Not Intended to a Backup or a place to store files in order to make space on the Internal Drive

You can Sync changes to files and the changes will be reflected to any other device you Own provided that are all using the Same Apple ID

Suggest reading from the Below link on what and how iCould works

Sign in to iCloud on all your devices - Apple Support (CA)

It is further suggested reading about how Time Machines is intended to be used with External Drives

  1. Check Battery Usage: Go to "Settings" > "Battery" on your iPhone to see which apps and processes are using the most battery. This can help you identify any specific apps that might be causing excessive battery drain.
  2. Reduce Screen Brightness: Lowering the screen brightness can help conserve battery life, especially if your screen is set to a high brightness level.
  3. Background App Refresh: Consider disabling Background App Refresh for apps that you don't need to update in the background. This can help save battery power.
  4. Location Services: Review and adjust location services settings for apps. Some apps use location services even when they're not actively in use, which can contribute to battery drain.
  5. Update Apps and iOS: Make sure your apps and iOS are up to date. Software updates often include optimizations and bug fixes that can improve battery efficiency.
  6. Check for Battery Health: Go to "Settings" > "Battery" > "Battery Health" to check the health of your iPhone's battery. If your battery's capacity is significantly degraded, it might be worth considering a battery replacement.
  7. Restart Your iPhone: A simple restart can sometimes help resolve minor software glitches that could be affecting battery life.
  8. Factory Reset: If none of the above steps help, you could try a factory reset as a last resort. However, this will erase all data on your iPhone, so be sure to back up your important data before proceeding.

If you have concerns about Time Machine or any other issues related to your Mac, please provide more details, and I'd be happy to assist you further.
