after updating my iPhone from 16.5 to 16.6 my phone shows that sim failure i tried by removing the sim restarting reset the settings almost everything but it’s not working what should I do

I was able to resolve this on an iPhone 13 Pro Max.

This worked for me, done in this order.
Power cycling, hard reset, and SIM out/in on their own did nothing.

iPhone 14 Pro Max- Sim failure also happened for my wife after updating to 16:6 . I have tried hard reset, sim out sim in, reset network settings, but all to no avail. Does anyone have any other recommendations please? The phone sim card is ‘Three network’ in the UK.

What model iPhone? Your profile says 5S, but that cannot be updated to 16.6.
And what is the exact failure mode for the SIM?
