Every time I put these icons in the "Others" folder, they keep getting out of it!

Hi! By some odd reason the icons that are in this picture (except Unetbootin) they just keep getting out of the "Others" folder every time I put them inside it, after I restart my mac, it happens again! can someone help me with this annoying issue? I hate when my Icons are not organised in folders.

The LaunchPad is a shortcut menu. It is not the actual location of icons. It is I admit a little buggy from a user perspective as it does not behave exactly as the icon menu of iPhones and iPads.

The Other... category is for icons that don't have their own specific category.

If you click and hold an icon you can delete the icon with the X.

If you click on an icon while its in a category and drag outside the category window it goes to the main Launchpad window, and allows you to drag it into another category in the Launchpad.

When you drag an application into another application into the Launchpad, that creates a category, which you can then name for both icons by clicking on the untitled in the header of the category.

Hi! I think i found a solution to the categories/launchpad folder., I just noticed that the icons that randomly go where they want i've been talking about are OUT of the "Others" folder, and the Launchpad app is constantly moving those icons out of the folded because those app are not inside that folder in the "applications" folder, Thank you anyway!

Update: It copies the application, and is not moving it. After I coped QuickTime the the "Others" folder in the "Applications" folder, It won't let me delete the QuickTime on the "Applications" folder, but it let's me delete the copied one, I just want those icons to be in that folder. this is starting to be a little nightmare. :(

The Applications folder is a read only folder of applications, unless you want to actually remove the program from your system. Quicktime is part of Mac OS standard applications, and should not be removed.

Third party applications in your applications folder typically come with an uninstaller. If they don't, Reggie Answorth AppDelete provides a more complete uninstall solution than just dragging to the trash. If you aren't an adminsitrator user, you can't remove most applications from the system.

The LaunchPad lets you filter applications my making shortcut groups of related applications. Moving the shortcuts around does not affect the Finder's files.

System Apps will always show in their defacto folder. Quicktime is a System App. Only non-Apple Apps can you permanently assign their own folder in the LaunchPad.

The applications folder, You can create a custom folder in the Finder, and then make Aliases of the applications and put them in a custom folder. This can help you organize App access in the Finder itself.

Some non-Apple Apps do not work well in the Finder outside the Applications folder. For those, you will need to leave them where they are at. The alias you can put anywhere you want.

Unetbootin is an application that I use to create bootable USBs with OSes, I used it many times and has been since around the release of macOS lion, It is from a trusted source. And by the way, isn't there any other solution with the apps? (except creating another folder for those system apps). I remember using macOS Mavericks, Yosemite, El Capitan, etc. and this never happened before, even with Unetbootin installed. I think I can perform a system re-install with OS X utilities, maybe that will help with the issue and it would clean random rubbish in the system.
