I cancelled my AppleOne subscription in January 2024 as the cost seemed to steep for the features I actually use. My subscription then ran out on February 9th 2024. I checked today and all my playlists had disappeared, some of which I have been curating for literally years, since the mid-2000s, first on iTunes and then Apple Music.
These playlists are literally part of who I am. They have been the reason for many happy family parties of the years. It even had the playlists on from our wedding. I was mortified to think I could have lost these countless hours of music forever. I think Apple should preserve this data for when people can restore their subscriptions.
Anyway, I'm glad I stumbled on this page. I have now re-subscribed to the basic individual package, and within a few minutes my playlists had all re-synced. Phew!!
Apple, please consider making this far more obvious to people, or find a way for people to preserve their playlists or save/export them. We don't expect to be able to listen for free. Just keep the lists, the names of the songs, etc., so they're there when we can re-subscribe. Playlists can be intensely personal to people.
