Printing with iMac High Sierra 10.13.6

My iMac with OS High Sierra 10.13.6 coupled with Brother printer MFC-J430W served me well for many years until the printer suddenly would not recognise Magenta cartridge despite being half full with ink! Replacement cartridge did not resolve the issue so have purchased replacement Brother inkjet printer model DCP-J1050DW.

Now I cannot get the new printer to print from the computer "Software for this printer isn't available from Apple"!

Brother says it should work, - but it doesn't!

Any suggestions please.
