The small face of a person with a question mark doesn’t appear on some photos even though there’s clearly someone in there. Is there a way I can tag the person with a name?

I want to tag every person in my gallery with a name but the small face with the question mark that appears when you tap the “i” icon and that lets you tag the person with a name doesn’t appear on some photos, even though there is clearly a person seen. Is there any way I can still tag the person with a name?

iPhone XS, iOS 15

It isnot possible on an iPhone, only on a mac. If you have a Mac as well and are using iCloud Photos, you can manually add a faces circle on your mac, then let iCloud Photos sync the named face to your iPhone.

As a work-around, create an album named like the person and add the photo with the person to this album. Then a search for the name of a person will also find this photo.
