Generating an App specific password

When I try to generate an App specific password on my iPhone 13 or my iPad, I get a message saying “Continue on one of your devices. On an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch go to settings > Apple ID.”

It doesn’t say what I need to do after that and everything I have tried takes me back to the same message eventually…..

There dont seem to be any App Specific passwords at the moments so it isn’t because I have used all 25.

what do I need to do?

I had the exact same issue and found a solution that might also work for you. Try using Chrome or a browser other than Safari. Sounds odd that Apple's browser is currently choking on generating app-specific passwords, but there you go, give it a shot.
