I have a 23 yr old ipod touch and ive never changed the passcode. I am now getting a message that says the device has been disabled and i have to wait 1,543,262 minutes!!
Can someone offer advice?

Your problem is activation lock, you will not be able use it without knowing the original ID and Password. See Activation Lock for iPhone and iPad - Apple Support
